Ellie's Story

Maths and times tables unsettled Ellie. She wanted to get help but the home tutoring wasn’t working.

How a change in environment changed Ellie’s view:

Getting help from a tutor at home wasn’t working for Ellie. After her mum talked with a friend who had a daughter attending INICIO, they decided to try tutoring away from the home environment. Thanks to the calming, positive atmosphere and progressive learning environment, Ellie loves her time at INICIO.

Because her tutor nurtured her learning with genuine interest, Ellie discovered that learning the times tables can be an enjoyable, interesting and easy experience.

Ellie’s mum recommends INICIO to others, just as 98% of other parents do

“Ellie now loves learning different ways to study maths and English, including using Apple Mac computers, and regularly hears praise and encouraging words. She enjoys feeling grown-up in the relaxed, creative environment.”

A more recent update on Ellie :)

Ellie has been studying maths and geography GCSE for the past year and is hoping to go on to do geography at A-level, in which case she'll be back for some more tuition!

"Ellie really enjoys her sessions, she feels that she is treated equally and is not afraid to fail. She knows that it’s a safe environment to admit that she doesn’t understand because she will be given the help that she needs and can spend as long as it takes to truly grasp a problem. These sessions give her time, something sadly lacking at school."

How Does Your Child Learn? Take The Vark Questionnaire

We may not always be aware of it, but every one of us learns in a different way. Although some learn best from reading textbooks, others may prefer to listen to their notes, or use flashcards. At INICIO we ensure that every child, no matter how they learn, can get the most out of their education with exercises designed to suit their unique personality. But how do you find out your child’s preferred learning style, and how do you use it to their advantage?

Start their summer reading list with The Big Friendly Read

Keeping up with reading during the summer holidays can be tricky, with many parents, carers and tutors noticing a ‘dip’ in their children’s reading ability while they’re away from school. That’s why every year, Libraries all across Leicestershire and the UK get set for The Summer Reading Challenge, an initiative that helps three quarters of a million children regain that confidence, from ages 4-11 years.
