The German language can be very tricky to master; rules such as TMP, separable prefixes and three (yes three!) genders can leave even the most proficient learners flummoxed and confused.

At INICIO, we LOVE the German language and find the challenge of its grammar exhilarating and rewarding. We enjoy watching students 'click' with the most complicated of rules and, with fewer students taking this subject further than GCSE these days, it is a language that can really set students apart from the crowd.

The German language is known for its exceptionally long words! The (previously) longest word in German was deemed too long and unpractical and so is no longer used; I think we can see why!

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetzmeaning “the law concerning the delegation of duties for the supervision of cattle marking and the labelling of beef”.

There are some words in German that have several meanings, whereas in English we would have separate words to differentiate them; the German language relies more on the context and so it's really important that you're clear what you're saying!

As with all of the other languages that we teach at INICIO, we can help you with all aspects of learning German, from the pronunciation to the writing. There are so many areas to a language and our tutors really love to pass on their knowledge and see their students flourish.

Whether you just want to learn the basics so that you can hold a conversation when you’re on holiday, order a drink and do your shopping, or become fluent in German, we can help! We offer sessions both online and in-person at our studio in the heart of Market Harborough.

Sam has been absolutely brilliant for Joseph. He seems to explain the subject to Joseph in a way he really understands and each time comes away with an enlightened look on his face! It is giving him more confidence too. I can’t thank you all enough.
