Religious studies and philosophy & ethics are fascinating subjects to study. Whether you are doing so for your GCSEs or have chosen one of these to study at A-level, you will certainly learn a lot about other ways of life and cultures during the two years that you are learning these subjects.

Students that take one of these subjects at A-level or degree level are usually inquisitive; the subjects require you to question everything and really evaluate what you are taught.

You will enhance your knowledge of religions around the world, learn about philosophy and also develop some excellent transferable skills. Depending on the exam board that your school or college offers, you will study a variety of topics including arguments for and against the existence of God, ethical theories and also contemporary issues such as abortion and capital punishment. You will study one major religion in detail too; either Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism or Judaism.

Religious studies is an excellent subject to help you to build upon your essay technique, as well as developing your debating and analytical skills. It also allows you to explore and consider different viewpoints, which is invaluable to carry with you through to university. It can open a lot of doors too; as well as anything philosophy-based, it can help with courses such as English, law or PPE (to name a few). Religious studies and philosophy and ethics can lead to a number of career options including humanitarian work, teaching, politics, journalism, research and academia.

We have some wonderful tutors offering online and in-person sessions who can help you with either of these subjects so, if you are worried about your GCSE or A-level exams, struggling to understand some of the content or just need some hints and tips with your essays, we are here to help, so just get in touch :)
