As Mandarin is a tonal language, many Europeans find it difficult to make the sounds required when speaking Mandarin Chinese. With a one-to-one tutor, you will be guided through this minefield and supported through the difficult job of reading and writing the unique characters.

As the most spoken language on Earth, there is a case for us all to learn Mandarin to at least a basic level. Beginning with Pinying and the basic greetings, you will love the challenge that this language poses, and have great fun putting it into practice.

There are now many companies worldwide that have some sort of interaction or connection with the Chinese language and so learning even a little can open many doors in terms of future career prospects.

Pronunciation will certainly be something that varies hugely from the pronunciation of the English language, but this is where our native speakers can really help you and hone in on any of the difficulties that you face. Our sessions at INICIO (both online and in-person at our studio) are very much tailored to each individual student, so you will truly benefit from them; you will be learning exactly what you want to learn and aiming for your specific goals, whether that's an exam, picking up a few basic phrases or widening the knowledge that you already have of the language for your work.

There are also areas of Mandarin Chinese that make it easier to learn than a European language, such as: there are no subject/verb agreements, no plurals and no tenses or conjugations… no need to learn all of the different tenses as you would with French, Spanish or Italian!

There's something fascinating about learning a language which has a different alphabet and, although it will certainly be a challenge, it will be well worth it once you are able to recognise, read and speak it :)
