Can you take your GCSE/iGCSE exams at a later date?

There have been lots of students wondering whether they will get the chance to take their GCSE/iGCSE exams if they want to. The answer is yes! So, how do you go about retaking your GCSE/iGCSE exams?

If you are unhappy with the result that you are awarded this summer for any of your subjects, you can resit your exams at a later date. There should be the possibility of taking them in the autumn of this year but GCSE retakes will definitely be on offer in summer 2021.

If you are retaking, you will need to register as a private candidate via the exam board website for that particular subject. All exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC) have information on their websites about how to go about arranging your resit and you may even be able to take it at the school that you attended for your GCSE years. We would also recommend chatting to the exam administrators or the teachers at your school, as they may be able to advise you as to whether you can retake the exams there.

We will be here for all of the tutoring and revision help that you need in preparation for the exams and don’t forget to check out our blogs on revision too, for lots of hints and tips for any GCSE/iGCSE retakers :)
