EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE TUITION
EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE TUITION
“My early experiences as a tutor helped us to realise that traditional tutoring wasn’t ideal for inspiring confident learning.
So we created INICIO to make learning fun, positive and interesting. Instead of tutoring at a kitchen table, we bring students together in our own homely learning environments.
Our approach is unique because your child feels relaxed alongside other students but is guaranteed one-to-one attention from their personal tutor.
Our tutors are talented, vibrant and engaging. We believe we get amazing results because our tutors connect with students on a personal level and give them the opportunity to learn independently.”
Sarah Ludden-Roughley, Founder

Charlotte Bee
Charlotte will guide you and hold your hand right from your first contact with us; your INICIO journey is an important part of your family life and, for many of you, we will play a part over many years and for sibling after sibling, subject after subject. Throughout all of this, knowing that Charlotte understands your child, their goals, their availability, their level, their weaknesses, their rate of progress and everything in between means that you can feel secure and safe in her hands and know that she will schedule, communicate and liaise with tutors to make this aspect of your crazy life as smooth sailing and enjoyable as possible! She also teaches maths, English and French for us :)

Why do you love INICIO? INICIO is a wonderful place to work and learn! The environment is perfect for students to come and study; it is unique, calming and welcoming, which helps make the students feel comfortable. Everything that INICIO stands for is something I believe in and we always strive to help students improve and build on their confidence - whether it's a small change or something big like jumping up a few grades. It's so lovely to hear when a student gets rewarded or recognised at school for the work they have been putting in outside of school; seeing how pleased the students are makes us feel very proud :)

India

Interests/hobbies: I love reading and listening to podcasts or Taylor Swift. I enjoy cooking and baking, especially when I’m trying new recipes. I like to relax by doing yoga and hanging out with my cat.
The three topics that students find difficult in your subject: There is a lot of specific terminology that can be hard to keep up with, particularly when definitions are briefly covered but consistently used in future lessons. There is more biology required than assumed necessary for a social science, which can be an unexpected hurdle for students who found biology challenging in earlier school years. Some students struggle with the pace with which material is delivered in lessons; there is a lot of information presented and, as they have multiple lessons a week, it can be confusing to decipher which content is the most important.
Why do you love teaching this subject? I love the versatility of psychology and the number of different fields that psychology is useful and applicable in. The three topics that students find difficult in your subject: In literature, I’d say it’s understanding old English and also evidencing arguments when critiquing texts. Literature is subjective, so you have to back up your arguments and be confident about your opinions. With language, I think it’s understanding the rules so that you can make them work for you, to find the rhythm in your words, make a page sing and a story spring to life.
Why do you love teaching these subjects? I love seeing students grow in confidence and helping them to reach their goals. It’s so rewarding seeing their language skills flourish and a love of literature develop. The three topics that students find difficult in your subject: Everyone has a different topic that they find the most difficult, but I'd say that statistical analysis during a fieldwork enquiry is the most difficult. The actual topic that, in my experience, students find the trickiest is changing places, because its intangible nature makes it very different to other topics.
Why do you love teaching this subject? Geography has always been my favourite subject and my A-level teacher inspired me to pursue my degree, which highlighted how important one teacher can be. I hope to be able to make a difference to someone else's life as a geography teacher.
